September Is My Kind of Month

September has always been my month.

My birthday is September 5, and I was actually born on Labor Day, so apparently I came into this world ready to work. 😂

And now I spend my free time cutting fabric into tiny pieces just so I can sew it back together again. Seems about right.

September is also National Sewing Month, and National Sew a Jelly Roll Day is September 19.

And, just to make things even better, September 19 is also Talk Like a Pirate Day.

So naturally...

Arrrrr you going to finish that quilt?

Where be me seam ripper?

And perhaps the most realistic one:

Arrrrr... why is this block half an inch too small?! 😂

September also means fall fabrics, pumpkins, cozy quilts, and convincing ourselves that buying more fabric is completely reasonable because technically it is National Sewing Month.

If you need help with that last part, you can always wander over to my shop and see what I’ve been adding at Tootie’s Quilt & Fiber Studio. I’m slowly filling the shelves with fabrics, quilting goodies, and things I would probably buy myself.

Happy September! 🧵🍂

I think I’m going to celebrate the month the proper way by starting another project before I finish the ones I already have.
