Fat Quarters, a New Idea, a Road Trip & a Little Quilting
It has been a busy week at Tootie's Quilt & Fiber Studio, and I did a whole lot of quilt-shop things without sitting down to sew nearly as much as I planned.
My big project was cutting fat quarter bundles for the shop. I thought, "I'll just cut some fat quarters, take a few pictures, and put them online." Well... there is a whole lot hiding inside the words "just cut some fat quarters."
Between the cutting, folding, photographing, editing, and writing the listings, it took quite a bit of time. But I really enjoyed seeing the Blooming Color bundles come together. The florals and botanicals in pinks, greens, turquoise, red, orange and yellow are so bright and cheerful, and the fabric matching is already done for you.
And yes, I may have rearranged the fabrics for pictures approximately 47 times. 😆

Something New May Be Coming...
I've been tossing around an idea for something completely different for Tootie's: a digital quilt project planner. Right now I'm calling it Stitched & Sorted: Quilt Project Planner.
It would help beginner quilters, or really any quilter with too many projects in their head, keep track of fabric choices, quilt size, cutting info, progress, notes, backing, binding, quilting plans, and maybe even the infamous "Where did I put that fabric?" section. Surely I am not the only quilter who needs that one.
It's still in the idea stage, but I'm excited about it.
Tootie's Is Heading to Houston!
This week I’m heading to Houston for h+h americas Fall Edition with my sister and two quilting friends, Kathleen and Trudy! Wednesday September 30th through Friday October 2nd. It's a trade-only craft industry event with more than 200 exhibitors, plus education for business owners, product demos, and networking.
In other words, I am going to learn some things... and there is a very good chance I am going to buy some things.
The Girls Had a Spa Day
Hayley and Zoey had a much more relaxing week than I did. They got groomed at Realm of Pawsibilities in San Marcos, where they've been going for years. Hayley gets very nervous about grooming, and they always take extra time and care with her, which means a lot to me. Of course, they both came home looking entirely too cute and knowing it.

And Yes... I Actually Quilted Too
I am almost finished quilting my Jack O' Lantern Lane quilt! This time I used my Baby Lock Coronet mid-arm because I realized I hadn't used her in a while. Apparently sewing machines can become neglected children too.
I've been having fun with the Halloween details, especially the spiderweb quilting. Once the binding is on, Jack O' Lantern Lane will officially be done.

So that's life around Tootie's lately: cutting fabric, photographing fabric, planning new things, getting ready for Houston, freshly groomed puppies, and squeezing in quilting whenever I can. I wouldn't have it any other way.
What are you working on right now? Finishing something, starting something new... or like me, doing a little bit of everything at once? Hit reply and say hi! I read every message and really do enjoy hearing from you. 💕
